Hi, I'm Bob Guns. I have been `lurking' for some months now on the
list. I thought it was about time I introduced myself. I am an
organization development consultant. I have a Ph.D. in this field,
acquired at the University of Oregon. I have also been in practice for 16
years.

In recent years I have been focusing on how to create faster learning
organizations. I was profoundly moved by Arie de Geus's strategic notion
that the only way to sustain competitive advantage was to ensure that your
organization was learning faster than the competition. Anyway, I have
recently written a book on this very subject, The Faster Learning
Organization: Gain and Sustain The Competitive Edge, published by Pfeiffer
& Co. as part of their Warren Bennis Executive Briefing Series. I am also
in the final stages of developing a survey instrument to test an
organization's readiness to become a faster learning organization (FLO).
One other thing- I'll be speaking at the ASTD Conference in Orlando on
this topic.

I am particularly interested in the idea of intellectual capital, how
to measure it, and how to tie my own ideas- FLO strategies, tactics,
skills, measurements, and technology to the idea of leveraging
intellectual capital.

I am now ready to engage in dialogue with others on this list. I
look forward to the discourse and developing collegial relationships!
