I think system archetypes are similar to "double-binds".

Gregory Bateson described how some researchers would count the double
binds in a patient's transcripts.

I think a solution is to shift logical levels in several places.
Unfortunately, this solution involves several system archetypes and
requires figuring out how to get out of a lot of double binds.

[Basically, when Alexander cut the Gordian knot, he shifted logical
levels. (This is only one example and it isn't a very good one.)]
