I've been using the term 'anorexia' for some time now to describe the
results of the repeated push for the "lean, mean corporate machine". An
anorexic (overly downsized) company is one that can no longer stand the
least little distrubance to its environment -- like the "infection" of a
new competitor... or an increase in demand for its products.
