Sb: Who decides Educn goals? LO5239

In response to my note saying there appeared to be a gap in thinking about
education between teachers and citizens, Marion Brady says, "Not one to
keep my ideas on this subject to myself, I wrote a little (and,
originally, little noticed) book on this subject: WHAT'S WORTH TEACHING?
SELECTING, ORGANIZING, AND INTEGRATING KNOWLEDGE (The State University of
New York Press). They published it as part of their Philosophy of
Education Series. Pre-publication reviewers were evenly split on the 5
point scale SUNY used. Half gave it the highest possible rating; half
checked "Unsuitable for Publication." "

Marion, my interpretation is that there is a divergence in thinking about
education even among educators. Is this your interpretation?
