To your list of resources on spirit in the workplace, I would add:

_Right Livelihood_, by Tarthang Tulku (though I am not confident about the
spelling of the author's name)

This work, which is from a Buddhist perspective, is excellent evidence for
your comment that these notions are not new, but part of the universal
human experience. The book is from many years ago, so possibly out of
print, but it is worth the search.

And from a slightly different perspective, I would also recommend _You
Don't Have to Go Home from Work Exhausted!_ by Ann McGee Cooper, et al.
It is full of ways to acknowledge and encourage people to "work with
spirit."

Finally, I think the works of Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi, both _Flow: The
Psychology of Optimal Experience_ and _The Evolving Self_ address issues
in this realm, though without the "religious" overtones.
