Hi Bob,

You mailed:
> I don't know if Deming every voiced an opinion on LO,but I don't think
he - or other TQM practitioners - have many serious disagreements.

I always thought that Mr. Deming knew about the learning organization
approach to organizing. I thought i remembered something about Deming
writing a foreword for The Fifth Discipline, but it isn't in the Dutch
translation i have. I thought that in the foreword there was something
like: " ... our prevailing systems of management have destroyed our people
.." Is this in the American original?

I agree with your messages. I did some JIT/TQM (and TOC, Theory of
Constraints by Goldratt) projects before coming into contact with the
LO-ideas. And i happened to be talking learning organizations all my life.
Although i prefer to use the term 'developing organizations' i.s.o.
learning organizations. I'll be back.

Host's Note: Dr. Deming wrote a comment that appeared in promotion
literature for The Fifth Discipline and on the dust jacket of early
copies. I'll put it in a separate msg tonight so it won't get lost.
