Glad to be on Board!

I'm an Industrial Engineering prof. here at the Univ. of Minnesota. My
interests are in quality engineering, quality management, product
development, and organizational behavior. I'm specifically working on the
application of complex systems theory (self-organizing behavior) to social
organizations, and the empirical modeling of complex dynamics (e.g.
chaotic systems).

Some of the research questions I have concerning learning orgs are:
* how can we measure org learning?
* are there organizational and/or individual "prerequisites" which
determine systemic thinking and the ability to model a system
holistically?
* can systemic thinking be taught, or is it more innate (we're currently
doing a study concerning the same w/ creativity)?
* how can we merge system dynamics theory (mechanistic models) with
complex adaptive systems theory (organic models)?
