I believe that we have discussed Margaret Wheatley's book *Leadership and
the New Science* whidh makes many of the same points as your posting. It
also discusses connections between LO's and chaos, complexity, etc. With
respects to Dr. Wheatley, she makes a case that LO's are adaptive and
self-organizing. She also writes that they are open systems (i.e., capable
of interacting - or learning - with their environment)
