My caution in the area of Knowledge Managment would be to make sure that
the "system" has more to it than just technology.

Before Knowledge Managment can be effective, a solid foundation needs to
be established. That foundation needs to include an internalized
understanding of the dynamics of knowledge development, use, and
maintenance - a means of recognizing and accounting for knowledge as a
corporate asset - and an understanding of the relationships between
knowledge and the knowledge utilization events that makeup the business
processes (this can be addresses through extensions to the work/process
redesign effort).

There are good tools available. Just make sure that they don't become
silver bullets. Tools alone do not make knowledge management.

More thoughts on the issue available if you are interested.
