Thank you for taking the time to send this message. I recognize
that my background is in the sciences and therefore limited with respect
to the contributions of the liberal arts. I need this kind of explanation
and reminder if I am to be effective. This is an area I need to work on
for my own development.

This rings true for me. Perhaps this is an aspect of the term
"empowerment" that doesn't get full discussion.
