I have used MBTI to work on team development - but that has been
part of a bigger 'alignment' of the team. I like the way in which
the MBTI can help a team to recognise and value the diversity in
the team but my sense is that teams come together around common
ground - shared vision and values. The dialgue which is needed to
develop that sense of common ground can be enhanced and
accelerated by use of MBTI and can help us to understand who we all
are and what we bring to the table ... I like to go beyond that
and agree how we will work together (through sharing values and
developing guiding principles) and what our purpose as a team
is.....

Personally I value MBTI immensly - as a tool for personal mastery
- it helps me to understand why I interface with other people in
the way I do ... and helps me to value those who bring something
totally different from me to a team... I know who can help 'fill
in the gaps for me' and I can appreciate that others have different
needs from me..... space, facts, logic and closure (you guessed it -
I am ENFP!!) However I could never build a team solely usig MBTI -
common purpose does it every time for me.......
