I would like to bring the following to the attention of the list.

SEATTLE, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- In the Pacific NW tradition of high- tech
and environmentally responsible companies and consumers, MagNet, Inc.
announced today one of the most ambitious World Wide Web sites ever to
appear on the Internet, the Better World(SM) site and 'Zine. ... The
site Access to the site and zine (at http://www.betterworld.com) is
free....

The summary of the lead story, _Corporate_Soul_, by Jim Morrison, Jim
talks about how, "Today's businesses are investing in their greatest
asset: their employees. In some boardrooms, terms such as "respect,"
"community," and "goodness" are heard more and more frequently alongside
old business buzzwords like "efficiency," "quality," and "bottom line."

In the story he relates the view point of Judith Neal, an associate
professor of management at the University of New Haven, who, Jim reports,
is writing a book about employees' spirituality.

Jim quotes Judith as saying, "The things that organizations were doing to
people in the 1980s and even up to now - layoff announcements are always
coming - were so dehumanizing and had no regard for the spiritual nature
of people."

I recommend that all members of the list that can take the time visit this
site and read the article. Much of what is said echo the thoughts on this
list.
