Replying to LO4195 --

You are on a good path. Treating people like volunteers at
work is effective, but must be introduced, handled, and
managed appropriately.

In a sense, are we not "voluntarily" working. Yes, we do
receive pay for our work but we are there because we
"choose" to be. And there is the key to getting the hearts
and minds of employees at work -- they are there because
they choose to be not because they have to be.

Just as a volunteer "works" for a group because they
choose/want to -- regardless of pay -- employees who
choose/want to work bring with them passion for the job.
When you have employees who have to be there, then just
telling them what to do could be the path of least resistence.
