Well, Java is probably one of the new types of programming models
available that will enhance creativity and synthesis. Instead of a program
residing on one computer, "the network is the computer." A synthesizer can
practice a great form of adaptation by customizing their creation's in
response to real-time feedback from their audience.
There are usually control issues to placing sensitive information on a
network. There will also need to be a system of compensation to content
originator's for the use of their content - right now, a synthesizer just
"borrow's" from the multitude of content on the web.
