Lyndon, the quote is right if... When we take any new idea or concept in
isolation, as if it will take care of all organizational problems by
itself, then all models are obsolete even before they are put into
practice. There is no model that will deliver whole answers. It is naive
to believe that LO is that. When we talk about LO, we might have to
consider a lot other notions old and new, to supplement and support LO.

I am one of those who say, for instance, that TQM/CQI efforts need of the
OL concepts to succeed and stay. LO needs, for example, the notions of job
enrichment presented by Richard Hackman in the 1960's. It also needs of
some other applications to support it.

No model, regardless of how great it is, will work all by itself!
