Testing a Mgmt System LO4026

As frequent readers of this list know, I have been discussing something
called "Interactive Management (IM)", a system of management specifically
designed to assist organizations to cope with complexity. Intermittent
readers have politely said that I sometimes sound like a know-it-all and a
sheltered academic. I deny nothing.

However in the interests of trying to help my tattered image, I am sending
to the LO list some info that I had to prepare for a talk I am giving next
week in Austin, Texas to a group interested in design and processes. This
info consists of samples of locations where IM has been tested. The
variety of sites and the great variability of interests and cultures
involved have begun to tell me that we can now say with considerable
confidence that IM works, and works more or less in a culture-independent
manner. This news is too good not to share with the LO group.

The following is the list that I will paste in and hope for the best. Please
note that these "tests" have been done by many people (seldom by me), and
always as byproducts of application to real issues that were at stake; but
nevertheless data can be accumulated quietly, without upsetting the work
programs.
