Replying to LO3785 -- was Learning the earth system LO3785

Maybe we need to view this defining "tampering" as Demming did, that is
altering processes without a clear definition of the problem, without
small- scale testing of the changes before general implementation,
resulting in destabilizing the system. The comments by several that we are
a part of nature and cannot help but affect it as it affects us certainly
reflect a systems view. But if we see ourselves a knowing organisms who
ourselves complex systems within the complex system of nature (or society
for that matter), perhaps we will be more cautious and respectful in our
modifying nature.
