I recently came across information regarding the characteristics of
Good Thinkers which I would like to share.

1. Good Thinkers produce more ideas and better ideas than poor
thinkers.

2. Good Thinkers tend to see the problem from many perspectives before
considering any one, tend to consider many different investigative
approaches, and tend to produce many ideas before turning to judgment.

3. Good Thinkers are more willing to take intellectual risks, to be
adventurous and consider outrageous or zany ideas, and to use their
imaginations and aim for originality.

4. Good Thinkers test their first impressions, make important
distinctions, and base their conclusions on evidence rather than their
own feelings.

5. Good Thinkers are sensitive to their own limitations and
predispositions, they double-check the logic of their thinking and the
workability of their solutions, identifying imperfections and
complications, anticipating negative responses, and generally refining
their ideas.

The above were taken from "The Art of Thinking: A Guide to Critical and
Creative Thought" by Vincent Ryan Ruggiero.
