Another complexity book is Jack Cohen and Ian Stewart's THE COLLAPSE OF
CHAOS. Also, FYI SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN recently (June? July?) did a feature
on the Sant Fe Institute which was featured in Waldrop's book. The article
was less than flattering, but conceded that much of this work was just
beginning. Compared complexity to other "new wave" systems analysis fads
like castastrophe theory, information theory, and cybernetics.

One author I have enjoyed reading is Howard Rheingold. His latest was
VIRTUAL COMMUNITY, how we could all work an "live" in cyberspace. Another
was TOOLS FOR THOUGHT which predated chaos and complexity but covered many
of their ancestors.
