Adding to the various postings, books not yet mentioned include:

Charles Hampden-Turner: Charting the Corporate Mind - in my mind far the
best treatment of dilemma management. Also: The Seven Cultures of
Capitalism, (a very good treatment of differences in business cultures
round the world, using the dilemma methodology) and Corporate Culture:
from Vicious to Virtuous Circles. Hampden-Turner deserves to be better
known than he is.

Complexity (I've lent my copy and don't remember the author, but its a
great introduction to complex adaptive systems. One of my worst decisions
in Boston last month was to buy only one copy from Buck-a-Book - at $US 1)

Schein: Organizational Culture and Leadership
Weisbord et al. Discovering Common Ground
Swieringa & Wierdsma: Becoming a Learning Organisation
Paul Hawken: The Ecology of Commerce

and going back a long way

Schumacher: Small is Beautiful and his other books

and a bit further afield

Thomas Moore: Care of the Soul.
