I'll add my two cents worth to those who maintain that they do. They do,
of course, have that "collective unconscious" I talk about all the time,
and it's more than the sum of the parts. Isn't there an old Chinese
riddle,"If you have a horse and a cart, how many things do you have?

Three. A horse. A cart. A horse-and-cart. Years and years in the
classroom "feeling" the difference in an entire class when various
individuals were absent for the day suggests to me that there may possibly
be more to a collective dynamic than our science discloses.
