Replying to LO3231 --

There's a couple of threads currenty in our exchange that seem to me to
have relationship - Art's invitation concerning the future of HR in LO's
and the interesting exchange about intervention. I have found that some
of the gap especially between OD and Training (whether you call them
functions or processes) cuts across these themes - much of the training
function has migrated to the theme of development - accelerating the
movement of learning out of the classroom and into the workspace; this
becomes polarity when the OD group in the same organization wants to work
from an "intervention" theme. Specifically, the training group may be
trying to "develop" the skill and posture of facilitation into work teams,
and the OD group sees this as a central point of their service.

If there is a failure of RESPONSIBLITY and ACCOUNTABILTY to work to an
integrated position on these important developmental issues, there is a
perpetual tension that is clearly a block to the path of the LO.

Does this disconnect/observation make sense to anybody else who is
providing input to the conversations on HR and interventions???

Regards,
