What is a meeting? If a meeting is where a group of people meet to work
together on a complex situation, we have had nothing but "good meetings"
for the last 20 years, because we have a design for this kind of activity
that assures good meetings (Hard to believe, eh?).
However the importance of a good design cannot be overestimated.
I'm only talking here about meetings that follow the design put forth in A
HANDBOOK OF INTERACTIVE MANAGEMENT, mentioned many times (too many) on
this list.
As for the rest of the meetings I go to, they are abysmal.
