In the February 7, 1994, issue of Fortune, my story "Rate Your Readiness
to Change" offered a checklist/quiz that allows companies to rate
themselves on a couple of dozen change-readiness factors, such as
motivation, customer focus, reward systems... It's adapted from work by
Andrea Sodano, a consultant at Symmetrix in Lexington Mass. You should be
able to get the issue in any library. Don't have an online version, and an
ASCII copy wouldn't help you because of the way it's formatted.
Of course, the issue is at least as much whether leaders and managers are
ready to change as whether employees are.
