Does the"7-Step Problem Solving Method" apply to both ordinary and complex
situations--or should a novice be given some guidance as to the type of
"problems" to which it applies? --

Well...doesn't the method lend itself to problem identification as well as
resolution...perhaps it is mis-named???? If we collectively believe that
"problems" arise as a result of missing the clues (symptoms) along the
way, then the issue of categorizing in to simple or ordinary and complex
becomes moot. The extent to which "build-up" occurs, it seems to me, is
in direct proportion to the relative ease or difficulty we experience in
applying the paradigm.

So, to the novice (which I think we all are and continue to be) or the
person perceiving themselves as experienced.....the 7-step process to
identifying and/or resolving issues seems to universally work. Don't you
think? Why should we fragment it when we are seeking to reduce
fragmentation? Thanks for your thoughts...Myrna
