Dave Buffenbarger's comments about cognitive learning are supported by my
own experiences, too.
In my activities using TQ tools such as the KJ, Ishikawa and Net-Touch, I
can't imagine losing face-to-face interaction and physical manipulation of
the primary writing tools on large sheets of paper.
At this time in our technological lives, I don't have access to anything
that can duplicate the direct, and literally hands-on actuation of group
work that solves business problems. When computers (another form of
tooling) are put to use, its in the aftermath of such encounters.
As always, I am alway highly impressed by Dave's contributions. There is
something I sniff in his comments--a intelligent commitment that is based
upon long, broad experience and iterative improvement.
