A great teacher of mine, Jan Smith, makes the point about development (and
developmental questions) as follows:

Development is to become something,
training is to impart something,
and learning is to come to know something.

She goes on to say that development alters the way each of us is connected
to others and "life" and fosters a higher order of integration.
Development has a long time horizon and allows for room for building
deeper insight, while wrestling with life in a new way. It most often
begins with a disruption or a "question."

It seems to me that her language is very similar to yours about
development, questions, and engagement with life.

For me, thinking about "questions" in this way has forever altered my
former "answer now" way of being.

Again, thanks to all the wonderful contributors in this list -- and to
Rick for "hosting."
