Replying to LO2252 --

It was just too tempting for my active mind to pass up this
opportunity. You might say I wrote this cheek in tongue.

Typical Day in a LO?
Replying to LO2252

Rick and Jeff challenged us to create a day in the workplace .....

>>>
Host's Note: Jeff's challenge, as proposed here and sent to several
other lists, is stated below. I propose to shift it a bit to:

Describe a typical day in the workplace once we are much
more of a learning organization.<<<<

Jeff
>>>>
It's the year 2005. Describe a typical day in the workplace.<<<<

Sometimes the mind goes (Vanilla topping and chocolate ice cream) awry but
it can't hurt thought I. Hope it is okay to be a little creative on this
list. - Dave

TYPCIAL DAY IN A LEARNING ORGANIZATION

GLOW Award Release

It is January 36***, 2005 and Glinski Bright was just recognized as a
Galactic Learning Organization Winner - GLOW - for the year. As a
recipient, they will be responsible to SHED LIGHT about the Learning
Organization for other organizations

(***Its easier to have 10 months, the metric year. There is also the short
5 day month, taken as vacation throughout the galaxy. As galaxy
president, Hillary declared it to be so. )

"Hear" are some comments from the auditors - Kick Raresh and Seter Penge.
This is being sent out via ESP (Extra Special Promotion) to everyone in
the galaxy. In Klein, cousin of Art Klein, is the editor of this release.

Kick and Seter live with their families at the top of a mountain no one
else can find. Both of them believe that you CREATE REALITY through your
thinking. They apparently created a mountain just through their thought
processes and live there day around.

RANDOM COMMENTS from the auditors:
(Real Assurance No Details OMitted)

The day at Glinski was a lot of fun. Everyone just GLOWed from the
satisfaction of running the place in a temperate chaotic way. Wag Mheatley
(the h is silent) stopped by while we were there and commented on the
fractals she saw running out the back door. Apparently it was an in joke
since everyone laughed, but we never got an explanation why they laughed.

We attended two meetings of groups. They refer to themselves as TLC's for
Teams Learning with Caring. We were surprised at the peacefulness which
existed even in disagreement. Glinski has 15 teams and they rotate
responsibility for generating new knowledge on demand. We were astonished
at the number of practical and previously uninvented ideas both teams
generated. They felt their capacities were low that day. They speculated
that their beta waves might have been low due to the pressure to perform
in our presenTS.

Customers told us they have long appreciated Glinski since their future
needs are created prior to knowing they need them. All 15000 strategic
customers commented about Glinski's perfection being tops in their
industry of "piped in live music from improvisational beta bands." They
create the music, new instrument sounds, new themes, etc for their
customers.

Least surprising was the adult responsible way everyone acted. In fact, we
still do not know who the official leader of this company of 400
associates is. They said they would tell us after the award process was
completed and awards announced. We look forward to meeting that person.

The announcement of the day's new creations was greeted with shouts of
praise and curiosity. Creation is built in to the very way they behave in
this organization and each creation is celebrated as though this was the
first one of the organization.

It is quite understandable that they celebrate each creation. They have a
goal that half of their sales in the next 5 days will come from new
products. Since they sell 430 products, this requires creativity, short
cycle times, fast customer surveys, and MINUTE-BY-MINUTE monitoring of the
marketspace.

We are proud to announce that Glinski discovered the next two disciplines
recognized galactically as the Sixth and Seventh disciplines.

The Sixth Discipline of the Learning Organization is to MEMORIZE THE FIFTH
DISCIPLINE and recite it MONTHLY.

The Seventh Discipline is to review the other Six Disciplines DAILY.

Have a great day and keep your life filled with fun!!!
