Hmm, I thought that many organizations which find themselves doing things
that make them learning organizations started in a guerilla way.

I've worked with folks who started solving problems differently, using
more of a systems approach. They shared their experiences and expertise.
They were able to coach and facilitate each other. That seems to be a
guerilla-based, initial learning organization.

Yes! Although, as people, it seems to be easier when there's a monumental
problem to be solved, and the old ways just don't cut it.
