**CREATING TOMORROW'S ORGANISATION: Unlocking the Benefits of Future
Work**

Some months back, Kai Simon asked whether there is some core textbook
material on the Learning Organization.

I am happy to report that the book I have written with Prof. David
Birchall is now hot off the press and includes an entrie chapter on the
subject of:

Ch.7 LEARNING IN ORGANIZATIONS: NEW APPROACHES FOR FUTURE WORK
ORGANIZATIONS We also argue the case in later chapters that, rather than a
"nice luxury", the learning organization is a strategic necessity for the
introduction of Future Work. There are also chapters on the related topics
of High Performance Distributed Teams, Networking, and the Mobile
Workforce. We use the concept of the Virtual Organization throughout as a
basic template. Those interested in an up-to-date overview and critique of
BPR, and what it takes to make business transformation really work - will
be interested in the latter chapters (no surprise to subscribers of *this*
group - they are essentially the soft issues!).

Details at end of this message. If anyone should have difficulty in
obtaining or would like to signed copy, please e-mail me direct. If there
is sufficient interest, I'd be more than happy to post a few short
quotations form the book to this conference.
