It is interesting to to look at this list of needs regarding the
information that flows through the List. This makes me reflects of the
idea suggested earlier to devide or departmentlize the discussion into
sub-topics, etc. I ask myself the question, can we not cope with a
dynamic conversation such us ours? Can we not cope with cross-topics type
of interaction, where can address any one topic, or mix them up in any way
we see fit? Do we really feel the need for a more "organized"
interaction, where we discuss one topic first, then another, ... etc.? Is
this a cultural thing? Or is it a matter of how intellectually developed
a person is? (This may not be the right question, but... ).

When I have the chance to get American friends together with hispanics,
especially in social events, many of them are of the opinion that it is
almost impossible to communicate anything among hispanics. Most hispanics
are pretty much accostumed to talking about several topics at the same
time, where one can find him/herself expressing opinions on this topic
being discussed on the left side of the group, and at the same time
keeping up and participating with other topic being discussed on the other
side of the table. While this is happening, this same person might also
be kind of carrying a conversation (even using a lot of body language),
with another person in a table across the room! This social interaction
drives most of my American friends crazy.

Is it in the culture? But most of us can keep up with the different
topics going on at the same time in this list! Then, what it is?

Ivan,
