Hi,

My name is Laural Adams and I'm interested in "transformative learning"
(ie. Mezirow and others) and I've got an idealistic (?) tendency toward
believing that the exchange that takes place between organiztions and
their members involves more than just financial compensation. Learning can
be an element of that exchange that is rewarding to the employee and
benefits the org. Also, I'm exploring roles and missions of orgs in
society and wondering if the for-profit organization can move beyond
self-preservation and incorporate that "exchange" relationship into it's
central mission (ie. the org exists not only to profit but to provide for
other societal needs, such as enrichment, quality of life, etc.).

I'm currently looking at doctoral programs through which to explore this.
I would appreciate any suggestions on programs that might compliment. I
look forward to the participating on this list.

Paper Request: I saw Bill Isaac's at the International Communications
Conference. He discussed his paper on dialogue in the org and said he
would "put it on the Internet." Has it been posted here? If so, could
somebody e-mail it to me? Thanks!
