Replying to LO1451 --

Dear David - this post is in response to your request
for ideas to help the top of your organization deal with
change issues. My go-in assumption is that sometime soon
after you implement the design, most members of this team
will begin saying and doing things that are perceived by
the rest of the organization (especially the change
champions) as mixed messages. I recommend you plan now for
some 360 degree feedback to the top people 90 to 180 days
into the implementation. This could be accomplished by
a trusted internal trainer using any number of instruments.
The idea is to start the conversation with the top about
how they are behaving. In my experience, this feedback
can accelerate the implementation and open up whole new
areas of dialogue - I haven't seen the same impact from
training.
