Ivan points to many of the challenges of paying for learning and
popints us to a useful distinction between paying for performance and
paying for potential.
The problem is a central one in complex adpative systems computer
modelling - and the real world of business. That problem is credit
attribution. That is, how do you decide the value of setting the
stage or earlier actions for what is currently being produced.
I suggest that the responses to this challenge will be one of the
major determinants of who will succeed in the corporate games.
