This is a reply to the "soak time" post. It is true that technology has
sped up the work flow of many businesses to the point of overload.
Technology was supposed to provide leisure time... a lot more leisure
time. Since we are in the state we are in, I have a suggestion about time
and time management. I just took Steven Covey's First Things First
Seminar. He has integrated a daily organizer around his 7 habits of
highly effective people and it is the first time...I can actually plan for
"soak time" because of the balance that will become very apparent. The
basis is knowing all the roles one has in life ie. father, husband,
manager, friend, volunteer, etc. and planning weekly goals for each role
we have. His "quadrant 2" mindset has to do with planning for mastery,
mental, physical, social and spiritual. If people want to know more, let
me know and I will post more. Of course, the source is the best Covey's
books.
