I would disagree with this as a means of thinking about incentives.
First, one has to accept the pyramid as an accurate model, I do not.
Second, the model is for the individual and not for the team and the
particapatory activities of individual contribution to teamwork. The
Business Results of the team provide the fuel for incentives. It is the
contribution not the need which are rewarded, IMHO.
