Tom, your message continues on about pay and incentives. It seems to
me that you failed to take the thinking, principles and examples
offered in the spirit in which they (mine at any rate) were intended.
Mine was to point you outside of the set of thinking that you are
bound by. Sorry that I failed so miserably.
I am keeping your two messages for my own development because they
express so well the management paradox that we are all trying to deal
with and will offer me a good reminder as well as a good study for
dealing with existing management metanarratives - including those
such as "the law won't let me".
