No language is useful without a cultural meaning as a foundation to
support it. I think that this is the major reason why Esperanto never
made it as a universal laguage. It is probably the same reason why the
catholic church decided to let churches say mass in the local language of
each congregation. I think that this happen after the church determined
that many followers were memorizing some of the "mass words" but not
learning a whole lot, because they were in Latin. With my apologies to
those who might love Latin, it didn't make a whole lot of sense to me
