Re: LO Video & Audio Tapes LO679

"I would like to know if there are any video or audio tapes available on
the concepts of the learning organization."

The Adult Learning Satellite Service of PBS has carried several
videoconferences devoted to the topic. "Cornerstones of the Learning
Organization" which was originally broadcast in December of 93 is a good
summary video. There is a series currently airing (part 3 of 3 will be
broadcast in May) which pursues the concepts in greater depth. The
broadcasts are available as videos, but are kind of expensive.

The Cornerstones of the Learning Organization videoconference is available
on video from NAK Production Associates, 1422 Fenwick Lane, Silver Spring
MD 20910. It is priced on a sliding scale (depending on nature of person
or org ordering and also its affiliation) from $395.(list price) down to
$250. The three-part series entitled Applying the Principles of the
Learning Organization (I think) lists for $1,045 and slides down to $745.
The third program in the series has yet to air; it is scheduled for May
11. To reach NAK by phone, call 301/565-0355. For more info, ask for
Pam. BTW, they also market an earlier broadcast called Creating the
Learning Organization, an embarrassing first effort that is better
forgotten, but which is distinguished by a wonderful retort by W. Edwards
Deming to the clueless moderator busy showing off how smart he was.
Speaking of schools, Deming remarked that testing is inimical to learning.
The moderator inquired, if you don't test the kids, how do you know if
they're learning anything? "Ask them," says Deming, "they know if they're
learning anything..."
