My name is Neeraj Maharaj. I am currently in my second year doing a
Master of Commerce degree at the University of Auckland. I am very
interested in the are of the Learning Organisation as a thesis topic. I
have read Peter Senge's books as well as various article publications on
the learning organisation and organisational learning concepts. I am
quite interested in the paradigm drawn that organisational learning is
synonymous with strategic organisational change, which hinges on the
premise that in order to survive in the competitive environement
organisations must constanly learn and change.
Hence I am interested in developing a model for a learning organisation as
well as case studies. I also have an interest in the idea of strategic
change and perhaps linkingf the two up. ie what makes a high achieving
organisation better than another organisation. Is there specifc types of
learning models applicable at strategic levels of the organsation rather
than at an operational level ??. How does the learning organisation idea
differ with ideas of TQM's continual improvement phylosophy ??.
I am also interested in a LO Model development for practical
implementation. I would be very interested in hearing from you all with
regards to your experiences and having some background info eg:type of
organization, size, and phase of implementation. Also, are you using any
models, if so, whose and why? What are your responsibilities and frame of
reference.
I would appreciate any information, references to articles in this area
that are in line with the more recent developments. I would also
appreciate guidance to any particular newsgroup of interest in this area.
