Replying to LO583 --

Kurt,

There are a lot of models for examining corp culture: Ed Schein's model,
Deal and Kennedy, Kotter & Heskitt. I've found that Hoffstedt's dimensions
of culture are particularly useful when I'm working with internationals.
The participants can rate their perception of the company culture along
several dimensions (power distance, masculinity-femininity, risk aversion,
etc.). My citation for cross-cultural materials might be of use (see
earlier posting). It can be obtained (text file or computer program) by
ftp to ftp.css.edu.

good luck,

Dave

(Oh, another idea: Xicom press has a relatively new instrument, the
Kilmann- Saxton Culture Gap Test. This compares actual and desired culture
on four dimensions and suggests changes based on results.)
