What a nice piece to chew on, Ivan...thank you. It is just that notion of
relationships and connections in the very nature of the interaction that I
think the video misses. It is this old anthropormorphic "mental model"
that appears to continue to surface...as if there is, indeed, one
craftsman who manages the relationships. I think the video does say this
and I have some concerns about that message as I believe that that is the
message that is currently prevalent and has gotten us into some
difficulty. It is the relationship and connection among and between all
of the "tools" - craftsman's ideals, talents, wood, varnish, temperature,
equipment, mood, affect, violinist, music, composer, other instruments to
compare, listener, level of hearing, etc. - that combine in a kind of
dynamic loop that provides the basis for understanding and applying the
essance of systems thinking. Don't you think so?
I harken to your idealism...perhaps I am in la la land....with mine? To
be sure, cause and effect are part of our "nature/nurture" paradigm. The
notion that there is one cause and one effect is the way in which we seem
to get stuck....the cause effects the effect and the effect effects the
cause....right? Thanks for your thoughts...Myrna
