I really enjoyed the current discussion concerning philosophical
implications regarding LOs, but IMHO there is a lack of discussing the
practical aspects of turning companies (or other institutions) into LOs.

Previously, the question "Why LOs?" was raised, and some of the answers
were improved quality, responsiveness, and performance. However, the topic
of how to achieve this practically fell somewhat short, and I would like
to bring it up again, since discussing the concept of LOs on a
philosophical level and sending people to workshops is just not enough.

A proposed way of accumulating learning and knowledge is the use of a
"Corporate Knowledge Repository", where qualitative and quantitative
information can be stored. This storage, if kept consistent, can provide a
basis for developing the knowledge body of the organization. Even though
there are numerous problems related to thi concept, it can still provide a
basis for the development of organizational competencies that can be used
for achieving the competitive advantage that companies are basically
striving for.
