IMHO, ALL human experience is subject to valuation. Your example of the
hot stove, while generally a good example, is eroded by two facts. First
small children have to LEARN the appropriate reaction. Secondly, NLP can
be used to UNLEARN as in Tony Robbins "fire walk" across a bed of hot coals
without ANY adverse physical effects.
As change consultants, we must be constantly aware that it is changing
people's perceptions of present and future reality that is the hard part
of the job at hand (including our own!).
Once the new common perceptions are in place, the change process becomes
straightforward (as in able to be performed by ordinary mortals...
