About how democracy in corporate governance relates to learning: the
notion that learning presupposes teaching is _Deeply_ _Rooted_ in our
culture. It has a long history - longer than just this century. Why,
for example, do we have an expression like "autodidact" - or on a less
exalted vocabulary level, "he taught himself ____" rather than just "he
learned"?

It's relatively easy to rid oneself of such expressions individually.
Human language being what it is, it's very much more difficult to rid
even a small group of the same expression and the habits of thought they
represent. I think in a learning tribe they might eventually disappear.
