To add to this discussion, I would like to call your attention to
what Albert Koopman (Transcultural Management, Blackwell Publishers, 1991),
says "exploitative capitalism demands quotas, productivity, and quality,
all as part of the commodity outlook on life. ... Likewise, a bureacratic
administrative socialist system also alienates the purpose of work, and the
worker's purpose, because the nature of labor is still commodity based." I
see that there is a lot of truth in these words. There is no benefit for
in either situation, because both are exploitative. One exploits the
financial power and the other exploits the political power. I believe that
these forms prevent learning from happening, because it is not to the
benefit of those in command for the masses to learn too much! The
environment of a learning organization has to a true democracy, where
people are not afraid to say, to express, to share, etc.
