The uses of any style or type of communication model is most often based on how
and what we hear, as in the very different perspectives of "I have to see it to
Believe it" and I have to Believe it to see it".

There is a lot of talking going on and not enough listening. When we write and
talk most often we use those preferred mode of communication that draw meanings
best for us, forgetting that others hear in very different ways, even the
nodding head requires follow-up with "Tell me what that means to you". I find
it immensely interesting that higher levels of responsibility often equates to
I can tell them my way now and they better listen.

I viewed a video over christmas (I don't have the title) it was by the National
Film Board of Canada and it was a comparative on goddess based cultures and
god(male) based cultures. The most compelling point TOO ME (as in this is what
I heard through my ears) was the fear base that underlies patriarchal
societies. Following the video, through discussions with friends and listening
to world events, I hear the fear base and I see it rationalized in terms that
promote and defend the male agressive corporate model. If you don't compete you
will be taken over ruled out, struck out, beaten, crushed, or in Charles
Barkley's words:
"Business need not be war, but I like it that way. As long as folks
like me run businesses and teach corporate strategy to eager students
wanting to leave their mark onthe world, those of you who ignore us
will be toast."

If one does not participate and cooperate one will get hurt.

Our communities and working structures are struggling with an out dated Roman
Empire Heirarchical model. The possibilities and mutual successes that occur
will build new structures. The referral to natural selection as a warring
competive model is wholly inaccurate and miss represents the struggle for
survival in the natural setting. It is not hate or fear motivated it is
competitive survival and success is your healthy survival without the
descimation of those you survive on. Even a wolf knows that to wreck the herd
is your own end, balance is the common ground and excesses are the terminal
exception.

Metaphorical success will depend on the receiver. It will work for some and not
for others as we have seen by the continuing dialogue, fore and against. The
most outstanding benefit to me is that the metaphorical descriptive helps me to
develop alternate perspectives and to understand the descriptive model better.
>From there I can go top the logical model with fresh insight and view it
openly.

Learning is a personal issue and when done in collaboration with others, if
one succeeds greatly in learning, others near also learn a great deal.

In the shadows of great trees are the humus and nutrients that prepare the way
for those to follow and thrive.

We don't have time to do it right! We have time to do it over!
