To current users,
I am a new user and would like to introduce myself. I am Steve
Cavaleri. I share a common interest with many of you in systems thinking and
organizational learning. Some of you may know me from my affiliation with
the Learning Center at MIT where I was a Visiting Scholar in 1992. During that
time I worked on several projects that have been discussed in Peter Senge's
books. Chief among my current interests is studying the relationship between
managing and learning. My belief is that most management approaches are
inherently biased to either support learning or hinder it. My view, and that
of several colleagues (Dave Fearon@CCSU and Ivan Blanco@Barry U) is that
interventions made with the intent of creating and sustaining learning organiza-
tions must be support by changes in management approach to have longevity. I
would be interested in hearing from anyone who has considered this issue.
I am employed as a Professor of Management at Central CT State University,
1615 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT 06050 and am a principal in
Concurrent Learning Systems, 350 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, CT 06109.
