Maine, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island October 2000 |
| We drove to Maine, took the overnight ferry to Nova Scotia, went to Prince Edward Island via ferry, to New Brunswick on the bridge, and came back down through Maine & New Hampshire. | The ferry from Portland to Nova Scotia takes all night. You get a tiny little cabin and the ship hopes you will spend the night gambling in the casino. Katherine, who had never gambled, tried slot machines for 2 hours. She made a quarter last the whole first hour, lost $20 the next and called it quits. The ferry docked at Yarmouth, N. S. in the moring. We changed money into Canadian dollars at a very good exchange rate and headed along the southeastern coast. |
