Our Trip to
Maine, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island
October 2000
Mabou cows
We went up to Cape Breton and visited a rug hooking musuem (done with a local flavor & locally made little hooks) and went to a tiny, wonderful music shop to look for the Cape Breton sound.  We found a Christmas album by the Rankins and the store owner was happy to discuss my quest for a screaming regimental bagpipe version of "Hey, Johnny Cope".  The quest continues, but the store is great. The store is Charlie's Downhome Music.
The photo is of cows on a little island in a stream outside of Mabou, the town the Rankins come from.
Mabou
Cape Breton, along the coast.  We stayed at Pat's B&B in Antigonish Harboour.  Very nice and the food both at Pat's and in town was excellent!  Then we took a ferry to Prince Edward Island.
